To digest breakfast, take a walk to the waterfall again. It is truly incredible, it appears in different colors at any time of the day. We were lucky, the sun was shining and a great rainbow formed, wow!
Back at the café/shop, I bought myself a pair of Tufflas (or something similar, definitely very warm and funny-looking sheep's house slippers) and since it smelled so good, I had another waffle with delicious blueberry jam for further travel discussions.
Somehow, we didn't feel like going over to Norway yet (the issue with alcohol on board was not yet resolved either), so we looked for something nice in the area. Close to the planned route, we found another waterfall, off we go to Handölforsen.
This one was beautiful too, with a suspension bridge and a fantastic view, it was worth the visit. Unfortunately, the accompanying café was closed. Della discovered another one on Google Maps and guided me to the middle of nowhere. The road was beautiful, with parking spaces on the left and right and no soul in sight, but... reindeer J
The road leads 10 km into a valley, with the mighty Norwegian snow-covered mountains in the background. At the very end, there were a couple of cars parked, and we also got out and started walking. We were in the middle of a moor landscape, with small streams everywhere that feed the roaring river, birds chirping, and occasional patches of snow.
A jogger passed by, then another one, but wait, barefoot...?!? "These Swedes are really nuts," someone said behind me. A short time later, we also joined them. Shoes off and barefoot through the moor, truly delightful. It was only a bit chilly near the patches of snow.
Along the way, there were occasional white animal droppings, definitely polar fox poop, because they actually live here, in the Valadalen Nature Reserve.
For the night, we parked at one of the numerous parking lots. Reindeers kept passing by while we were cooking and eating, and with binoculars, we could observe more animals. Searching for them is helped by scanning snowfields. The summer temperatures seem to be too warm for them, so they often lie there.
PS: All alcoholic supplies listed and drank by us duty-free, Norway, here we come!
