Kevin not alone at home

We have been wondering all the time why there are no flies, wasps or mosquitoes in Milan. We shouldn't have sworn to it, because last night I got so badly bitten everywhere. And not just normal bites, but big, red dots are now spread all over my body 🤦🏼‍♀️ But nevermind, let's continue with the text.

After we had everything ready in the vacation apartment, which took us forever because we had to search for the trash cans (due to construction work, they were not where the note said 🚮), we drove to Finn's friend. Kevin lives in Brescia, which is between Milan and Lake Garda 🚗

We were welcomed with a lot of hustle and bustle, as relatives with two little children were visiting. For lunch, Mama cooked pasta with tuna, very delicious 😍🍝

Then we took the train to the city center and met more friends from Finn's circus days 🎪 and sat in a café right by the Cathedral of Brescia🥤 Most of the time they spoke in Italian and occasionally asked something. Which probably had to do with the fact that only Kevin and his cousin can really speak English 🗣🗨

Then we drove back home and relaxed. Here it is usual to take a nap after lunch. Perfect for us, although we weren't tired enough to sleep 😂😴

For dinner, there was a big BBQ with the relatives (about 15 people in total). They all live somewhere nearby. As vegetarians, we would have definitely suffered because there was lasagna with ground meat, big sausage rolls, small minced steaks, and pieces of meat that should only be eaten with olive oil 🍖🥩 For the salad or afterwards, there were lemon slices that were simply eaten with the peel (it's not that bad, but they are fresher here than in our country) 🍋

In the end, an uncle brought out a hookah - Finn in heaven. We already miss the evenings at Eric's with the boys (sending a kiss 😘). They talked about German and Italian stereotypes. With some questions, we almost split the family, such as whether it is allowed in Italy to eat spaghetti with a spoon and fork 🍴

An all-around successful day with super nice hospitality. It doesn't matter that we don't see much of the city, but rather experience Italian life up close 😇
