So the family vacation is over, I'm currently sitting in Seville and wanted to briefly tell you about the last week. I've been to this hotel in Conil de la Frontera several times before. It's really a dream and it's always fun. But since there is no train station in the town, my father had to pick me up at the nearest train station because I unfortunately didn't arrive at the airport at the same time as my family. Initially, there were 3 families with us on vacation, but after 3 days, it was only 2 families. Our daily routine was nothing special and quite monotonous, as we had no excursions or anything planned. We would wake up, go to the breakfast buffet, then we would apply sunscreen and go to the beach or pool. (But this year, we mostly stayed at the beach and rarely went to the pool) Then at some point, we would have lunch at the beach and of course, dinner at some point. However, this year, we didn't always have dinner at the hotel, even though the buffet is almost always amazing, but we also went to town and explored restaurants there.
Unfortunately, I don't like fish or seafood, and you can imagine that there is mainly such food to eat there. I did try it again this year, but it still doesn't appeal to my taste buds. However, I always ate very well.
The breakfast buffet was also amazing. Every morning, I would get myself a plate of watermelon, a sweet plate (usually with pancakes or other sugary stuff), and a savory plate with baguette and cold cuts.
We also enjoyed ourselves at the beach. Besides sunbathing, reading, going into the sea, going for short hikes, and occasionally playing with a ball, not much happened. (By the way, you should know that the climate down there is perfect. Not incredibly hot, but still warm due to the clear sky and the blazing sun. Add a pleasant breeze to that and the sea is very refreshing) However, I was very tired and exhausted every evening, even though I had relaxed all day. I have no idea why that was.
As a change from doing nothing at the beach, it was also nice to sit in a Chiringuito (beach restaurant) with my swimwear on, feet in the sand, and a view of the sea, and enjoy a drink. It's just a nice feeling.
I also have to mention that I think the Spanish way of life is pretty cool. The locals have a late breakfast, take a nap in the afternoon, and accordingly have lunch and dinner later. And if there's still no one in a restaurant at 2:30 pm, it suddenly gets packed at 3 pm... I just wanted to mention that as a funny fact.
Even in Conil itself, the evenings are very cool. The narrow streets are full of people. Restaurants on the left and right, where families with their little ones have dinner until 10-11 pm. And in general, the number of people who gather in this small town every evening is simply fascinating to watch.
One day, spontaneously, with 5 people, we decided to go on a day trip. We wanted to walk from our location at the beach to the Trafalgar Cup & Lighthouse and back. That's about 26 km that you can walk completely along the beach. We did it, and despite the effort, it was also fun. We had a good but overpriced lunch halfway through the route. Not much else happened. It is worth mentioning that the sea at the lighthouse itself looked even more beautiful than where we were, and after a few meters, you couldn't stand anymore. That all happened very quickly there. Moreover, the beach was not consistently as beautiful as at our hotel. There were some sections that were full of algae and where the sand was also made up of many shell remnants that could cut into your feet.
Well, in conclusion, I have to say that time went by faster than expected. But it was a lot of fun, I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to future stays.
