Hoping that the weather would improve, we booked another kayak tour, this time to see seals in the bay in front of Apollo Bay. With 14 degrees and light rain, we were happy about the wetsuits. Fortunately, after a short time it cleared up, we were already on the move and saw tons (according to the guide about 300-400) seals rolling around on the rocks and diving in the water next to us. So it was worth going out in the kayak in the cold!

Afterwards we continued on the Great Ocean Road to visit the “Twelve Apostles”, “Gibson Steps” and other sights. Over the last hundred or thousand years, the sea has created various rock formations that are truly impressive to see.

We had booked a wildlife tour in a nature reserve for the evening so we could learn something about the animals in Australia. The biologist Sash showed us around the reserve, where the animals live freely and we were welcomed with dinner.

We were lucky, we came across wallabies, jerboas and kangaroos, while koalas were hanging and roaring in the trees again (it is currently mating season).
