...lives up to its name because you discover something new here every day.
One day the grizzly mom is fishing right at the campground (on the other side of the river), the next day the boat trip, called rafting (even if we don't paddle) for bear watching.
We actually always have bear spray (or 'Ax Canada' - thanks, Malte 😂) with us here, even though luckily we haven't had to use it yet.
Back to the boat tour:
Fisheries Pool, Tweetsmuir Park.
Here you can watch the salmon jump out of the water. That's why this place is also known as Bear Spotting Point.
From here a little way up the river in the van, then get in the dinghy and enjoy.
Many different salmon are on the move: Chinook, Coho, River Sockeye, Pink Salmon. All clearly visible in the crystal clear water.
Then eagles were visible on the bank, which is awesome - but still no bears.
Shortly before the end of the tour he came out of the bush, a big grizzly! Sniffed briefly in our direction (no fish = uninteresting), then went into the water (on its side of the river!) and ate the salmon.
Luckily we found him totally boring, but we were completely blown away!
A fantastic experience
