One last time in the morning, packing the motorcycles for the final 330 km stage to Christchurch. The temperatures today were okay, but that wind again. The route took us north, along the Pacific and then onto the 'Inland scenic highway'. Few curves, some straight stretches that felt like 20 km. We've definitely seen more beautiful routes, but the alternative route is supposedly even more boring. Still, plenty of farms, lots of cows and sheep.
Successfully returned the motorcycles after 4044 km ... it was a little sad - they've been with us for so long. But we're both pretty wiped out today, it was tiring.
We can now relax in Sumner for a whole day, a nice little town near Christchurch. We're lying on the bed and listening to the Pacific Ocean waves :-)
@Bernd: an idea for expanding your car wash ... here at the gas station, you can wash cars, trucks, boats, and even dogs.
