A few short sentences about Hanoi: In 2015, Hanoi already had 7,500,000 inhabitants. Approximately 1/3 of them use a motorbike and zoom around. It's incredible, there are no rules, but it works because everyone also always shows consideration and lets others go first. We actually expected to see traffic victims lying by the roadside every few meters, but there were none on both days.
The French influence from the colonial period is unmistakable. Almost everything that is beautiful about old buildings has French origins.
Today, the program started with a visit to the old town and a tour of the oldest house in Hanoi. Then to the center of the old town, the Sword Lake, and a visit to the Pearl Temple located on the lake and accessible by a bridge. (Still miles away from Myanmar or Bhutan)
Afterwards, an hour on a rickshaw through the hustle and bustle of the old town.
I'm using the siesta to report.
