Today we want to hike. Really! So we get up early, pack our things, quickly drink the necessary coffee and head to the bus stop with three other girls from the hostel.
The bus takes us to Rudno Polje and from there the ascent begins - initially flat, then increasingly steep - up to the viewpoint: the summit of Viševnik. At the beginning of our hike we are at an altitude of 1347 meters, our goal is at an altitude of 2050 meters, and we respectfully look forward to the way.
Over a distance of about 2 km we only go uphill, two hours are estimated for this and we also need them.
At the beginning we are surrounded by trees, which soon turn into bushes, interspersed with rubble, and the path becomes increasingly difficult and occasionally requires climbing skills. Everyone goes at their own pace and at the same time we motivate each other, which makes our group so pleasant.
And eventually we are actually at the top and admire the view around us, especially on Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia with 2864m.
But at some point we have to go back down to catch the bus, so we start the equally exhausting descent.
The thighs burn, but after one and a half hours we have safely made it back down and drive back to Bled completely exhausted, but happy and proud. Amazing people, amazing day!
