Orlando - Disneyworld

Today it was time again. New morning, new city - need to orientate again. Already the 4th time in 10 days. That's probably why we didn't sleep well last night. It always takes a bit until you get used to the new environment and then it usually continues. But we still have something to see here first.

The breakfast is served in a large room where everyone can help themselves to the delicacies of the American cuisine. Waffles to make yourself, thin burger patties, cornflakes and toast are just a small selection of them. We were a bit under time pressure because the shuttle was supposed to leave at 8.45 and we naturally had to catch up on sleep. In the end, it arrived shortly after 9.

We were then dropped off after a 15-minute drive in front of the Animal Kingdom. Disneyworld consists of 4 large parks here - Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Universal Studios and Magic Kingdom. All together on an area the size of a small town. Everything is just enormous and spread out. There is a monorail train and a bus shuttle running between the parks every 5-10 minutes. We have a 2-day pass, which means we can either visit the same park for 2 consecutive days or 2 different ones. Today we decided to visit the Magic Kingdom Park. After being dropped off, we had to take another 15-minute bus ride because it was not served by our first shuttle. But no problem at all.

We drove past a part of the parking lot and the lines of cars, and it already feels like: this part alone is as big as Heide Park in terms of area. We quickly went through the entrance to the Magic Kingdom Castle. We even received buttons for our first Disney visit. You don't know where to start at first because there is so much to see. There are also small info stands and countless shops everywhere, and people, people, people - wherever you look.

After the famous castle, we started exploring the individual theme areas counterclockwise. Until lunchtime, we had only done 2 attractions, as each one can have an average waiting time of 45-70 minutes or more. But it's always worth it, for example, the ride on the water ride lasted just under 10 minutes, so 60 minutes waiting time is okay.

This applies to all the attractions. There is something for everyone. We have several water rides, a safari on the river, a ride in a race car on a track on rails, and several high-speed train rides, and the highlight - the ride in the honey pot through the Winnieh Pooh theme area, which we found particularly good. The park itself also has its own train that serves the major theme areas, so you don't have to walk everywhere. We also used this when it suddenly started to thunderstorm in the afternoon and the lightning came down. A woman at the kiosk where we took shelter told us that this is completely normal and happens regularly here. After 1 1/2 hours, it was sunny again. It's also just as humid as a greenhouse here all day long. You sweat a lot all the time, even if you are just sitting there.

Of course, we also saw many 'stars' from the Disney universe, including several parades on Main Street. We didn't do every attraction in this park, but that would be too much anyway. On the way back, you have to go through the morning routine in reverse, so change again to catch your shuttle to the hotel at some point. It only serves all hotels every few hours and not from every park. So we had to be at the Epcot Park at 7.45 pm to catch our shuttle. This way, we could also enjoy the monorail outside. Over the day, my hands also swelled quite a bit, also from all the walking. You can see that pretty well in the pictures.

On the way home, we then went shopping for something that didn't consist of fries and burgers - we had Barilla noodles with tomato sauce, of course from the microwave. Yummy.

Tomorrow, the Hollywood Universal Studios are on our program. Let's see what awaits us there. Now it's time for a good night's sleep - we are really tired and exhausted.
