On Maui, we also start the day outside on our terrace before embarking on an eventful day.
First, we go to a beach right across the street from our accommodation for snorkeling, followed by a short beach walk! All of this already in the morning at 7:30 am, we don't waste a second!
Afterwards, I go to the public swimming pool (if I haven't mentioned it before, they are free everywhere here in Hawai'i, this should be introduced in Germany too!) - the lifeguard there even remembers me from my vacation last year, which makes me happy.
Afterwards, we take our convertible and drive along the coast, sometimes so close to the water that the spray from the waves actually reaches us in the car. After an hour of driving, which goes by much faster than in a regular "boring car", we arrive at Ahihi Beach, a snorkeling spot that we already know from last year. It is small and charming, a place that only locals visit. Here, the fish come so close to you, like nowhere else, sometimes it feels like you could even touch them!
After 2 rounds of snorkeling, we enjoy a delicious muesli with a sea view on the beach - what could be better.
And the sunset is also viewed from the beach, the surfers are still in the water, enjoying the last rays of sunshine - better than any private cinema at home! And so, a phenomenal first day on Maui comes to an end, which we spend almost exclusively outdoors, because even the car rides are now under the open sky!
A stroll through Lahaina rounds off the evening, and finally, we return home with our Beetle!
