On the way to the west coast, we passed by probably the most beautiful rest area in Canada. The rest area is located right next to a river that was extremely clear and it is simply beautiful to sit there.
Truly the perfect place to rest and relax from the drive. Unfortunately, it was not allowed to stay overnight here, so we continued towards Tofino.
Although it was already September, there was still a lot of activity here, and most campsites were fully occupied. We didn't have much choice. The first night, we stayed at the overflow parking lot of one of the campsites, about halfway between Tofino and Ucluelet.
We were also very lucky with the weather here, as it was sunny and warm - if you're not in the wind. So we could, among other things, lie on the beach in the sun and even go into the Pacific Ocean - which was relatively cold again.
The next three days we spent at a campground in Ucluelet. The campground is located right next to a boat dock, so I went out on the water every day with my kayak. Always in a bay east of Ucluelet. 2 days were perfect weather, the last day was unfortunately very foggy and wet. But this area was perfect for observing animals. On the first day, I saw two relatively young black bears playing with each other on the shore, but unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me.
On the second day, I saw a total of 5 bald eagles, which flew directly overhead.
