Finally, we could turn around this morning to sleep a little longer. When we were finally awake, we got ready and went to have breakfast. Afterwards, we walked around the city again, looking for some sweaters. It was actually colder than expected and we didn't pack many sweaters. Finding something affordable here was quite a challenge, so we had to make do with what we packed.
The weather today was nothing like yesterday. Radiant sunshine and not a cloud in the sky! Still a bit chilly, but that didn't matter. The main thing was no rain. After exploring the harbor again in nice weather, we walked to Beacon Hill Park. There are also a few beaches there. We settled down on the stone slabs at one beach and enjoyed the sun and the soothing sound of the waves. However, the wind eventually got too chilly for us and we made our way back to the city. There, we simply sat in the sun by the harbor. We really didn't feel like walking much anymore. The past few days were quite intensive in terms of walking...
At some point, we got a hot dog and a frappé at Star Bucks and sat down on the lawn in front of the parliament building. It was really warm in the sun now! However, the jet lag still bothered me quite a bit, so I got terribly tired every day around 2 PM. And today I wasn't feeling well at all. I barely managed to make it back to the accommodation. We got something delicious to eat at the public market and then we were already back in the room. I wasn't able to do anything else today, so we went to bed early again. Tomorrow we would continue to Tofino, which meant a distance of 300 kilometers. So better be fit!
What we noticed in Victoria: there are even more homeless people here than in Vancouver! And there were already quite a few in Vancouver. Really crazy! Victoria is a lovely little city, but nothing more. We don't necessarily have to come back here, but as we have already discovered, we are more into nature ;) So, we enjoyed being by the beach on the rocks again today.
