What stunning scenery does Scotland have please?!
But well, let's start at the beginning... ^^
The day started with the alarm clock ringing at 6 a.m. Then get dressed quickly, start walking, buy breakfast and get on the coach in the city center on time. *yeeee*
Unfortunately, I felt a bit sick for almost the entire journey, I have no idea why. Eaten too little? Drank too much water? Too many switchbacks? It doesn't matter :D
Still, the beautiful scenery, lochs (meaning the Scottish lochs) and mountains rolling past the bus window made it more than worth it.
It was actually gray all day and it rained again and again. Nevertheless, our thoroughly Scottish bus driver (he even wore the typical Scottish kilt) never tired of emphasizing "there will be blue skies once we get to Loch Ness". Yeah, no, that's clear, we all thought.
But: he was right! The sun came out, the sky was as brilliantly blue as Loch Ness itself and this place was definitely my highlight of the whole tour, if not my whole holiday in Scotland. :)
We toured a castle there and even took a boat tour of the entire loch. Insanely beautiful... albeit very windy on the top deck. In any case, I didn't need to brush my hair beforehand :D But hey, the view was uniquely perfect :)
I think unfortunately the pictures can only give a hint of the feeling I had when I was actually at Loch Ness for example. You just feel the power of nature - which somehow sounds more spiritual than I mean it... :D
In the evening at 8:30 p.m. we were back in Edinburgh. Then we had a nice meal and then returned to the hotel quite early so that we could go to bed after a long but beautiful day.
To put it in a nutshell I would highly recommend everyone to go to Scotland! I've never been to a place like this before. My favourite: Loch Ness :) Even if Nessie wasn't there :D
Take care!
yours,
Leonie
