Good evening my dears,
Here's another short update about my stay in Sidemen. As announced in my last post, I signed up for a silversmithing course in Sidemen and I have to say that the jewelry turned out really beautiful.
Unfortunately, I had hoped for a little more from the workshop. I was allowed to do some things myself, but unfortunately one of the employees did the main part or the most important step for me. On the one hand, that's understandable, as this step requires a lot of experience, but I still wish I could have at least tried this step. Well - the rings still turned out very nice.
After the workshop we went back to the accommodation on the scooter. For this route home I chose the particularly spectacular route over the Yellow Bridge. Since I couldn't take any pictures with the scooter, I set off again and looked at the bridge on foot and a little more slowly.
However, I had a quick snack beforehand with mangosteen that I bought at the market. My absolute favorite fruit on this island and simply super, super delicious. Also quite a mess to eat but absolutely fantastic!!!
The bridge wouldn't pass a TÜV test, but I didn't really think about that at the time. I think that was a good thing in hindsight, as otherwise I would. wouldn't have driven over it.
After my walk through the town, we had an early dinner and then took a shower and then went to bed and read. I was really engrossed in my book and almost missed the sunset. Lucky.
When I got up again in the evening to brush my teeth and pee, I unfortunately broke the fan because I got out of bed too quickly and my stubborn head tore the cover off the fan. Classic! I tried to fix it but unfortunately without glue or anything else I had no choice but to go to sleep and hope it could be fixed the next morning.
Let's put it this way: that hope was dashed the next day (which was also my next travel day) and there were some unpleasant detours the next day.
But more on that in the next post.
Feel hugged.
Your Britta
