Day 21: Paihia - Okiato

ޝާއިޢުކޮށްފައިވެއެވެ: 29.09.2018

Today is once again a beautiful day. The sun is shining and it’s really warm. Spring has definitely arrived in New Zealand. To get to today’s hotel, I have to go Opua first where I have to take a ferry. As I await the ferry, a guy sits next to me and starts talking to me. His name is Chris and he’s from Australia. He is here in Opua to take care of a yacht from a friend. Last November he sailed all the way from Fiji here to Opua. He confirms that the country is just beautiful. He even compares it to the Bay of Islands. Only that it’s warmer and the beaches are just incredible. It’s definitely worth a trip.

I take the ferry to get to Okiato. From there I have to walk for about 500 meters up a hill. As I arrive at my accommodation, I am a bit surprised. I didn’t know that I booked a bed & breakfast. Cause there are no shops or restaurants in the area around the house, I take the ferry again to get to Opua to go grocery shopping.
