My first stop takes me to Noosa Heads. I have a “tent” at a campsite there for 3 days. The tent is more like a small house with a bed and a bathroom, but with a tarpaulin. This is called glamping.
The campsite is located on a lake in a national park. When you turn off the road, there are signs warning you that you should drive very slowly and that this is wilderness. After a few meters the wilderness looked at me from the side of the road: a kangaroo was standing on the side of the road and on the other side there were 3 more kangaroos :)
When you arrive at the square, it is literally teeming with these animals. After a loud noise, at least 20-30 kangaroos quickly hopped away in a pack.
In the Lone Pine Sanctuary Park you could still touch and pet them, but this was not allowed here. They are wild animals and that is how they should be treated in the national park. But looking at them is at least as nice.
