Farewell NZ

ޝާއިޢުކޮށްފައިވެއެވެ: 22.03.2019

Yesterday was quickly reported: it was very autumnal, so cloudy and quite windy all day. The chestnuts are ripe, the leaves are starting to fall, so it's high time for me to move on.

Today I first cleaned my cell phone, packed and then returned the car. It was really a great ride and survived the 3600km without any damage...

I was dropped off at my hostel at the airport and spent some time at the Antarctic Center (from here, among others, the Americans head to Antarctica). At the center there are penguins, a 4D cinema and a wind and cold chamber (greetings to Paul 😅) there I met a geographer from the USA, who is now working on a ship for a few weeks and heading towards Tahiti. Can do that once 🤔

And we have found that geographers are all similar and have the same problems...

Now I'm in the hostel, which is very spacious and modern, especially the sleep capsules are pretty cool, because you have a minimum of privacy.

Tomorrow at 7 the plane will go to Sydney.

Finally, on New Zealand and the past 3.5 weeks:

- scenic incredibly beautiful and diverse

- experienced the people as very friendly (there are also contrary reports)

- Germans everywhere (really everywhere) and you meet the same people again and again if you have a similar route (today the Austrians at the campsite and the hunters at the airport)

- the infrastructure is quite well developed, especially in the tourist centers

- food like in the USA (mostly fast food) but also a huge selection of healthy things in supermarkets

- prices are similar, but on average higher and some things are very expensive (chocolate, cucumbers, alcohol)

I really liked it and if I have the opportunity again I will come back, but now I am looking forward to change and something different, especially to the warmth!

See you then and for the last time greetings from a distant of 18500km!
