Our next destination is Etosha Park, and since we want to be there early, the alarm clock rings when it is still dark. By now, we are quite efficient and quick in packing up the rooftop tent and camping gear. After refueling on the way, we then enter Etosha Park through the Galton Gate. However, except for termite mounds, we don't see a single animal in the first few kilometers and wonder if they are only in the eastern area.
At the first waterhole, we are proven wrong and encounter a large herd of elephants, zebras, impalas, oryx, giraffes, ostriches, kudus, and a small warthog. So, in the next few days, we will be on the lookout for more animals. We chose our campsite, Olifantsrus, because there is a waterhole where you can observe all night long.
