Pictures tell more than a thousand words, but for those who are still wondering - Today we visited the legendary, mythical, and well-known Golden Gate Bridge.
But first, let's talk about the morning: After a sufficient breakfast of cereal and plenty of coffee, we set off on foot to the Painted Ladies (Manfred thought it was a brothel ^^ and was full of anticipation). These colorfully painted houses tell the historical and architectural past of San Francisco. They are a symbol of the classic suburban house in northern California.
Fully motivated and pushed by Sarah's dream, we continued on to find the Full House house. We succeeded, but it was more than disappointing as nothing reminded us of the former series house. Thank God it was only a 5-kilometer walk ^^ Thanks Sarah :)
After this disappointment, we had an epiphany when we arrived at the Golden Gate Bridge (this time by bus). The mighty red steel colossus rises from the sea and impresses with its sublime construction far more than in the Hollywood movies. Of course, we wanted to go to the best viewing platform and took the bus over the bridge to get there. We missed the exit and found ourselves in the small fishing village of Sausalito again. Here we were able to strengthen ourselves in a cute, small restaurant and discuss the further course of action. After we came to the conclusion to drive back to the other side of the bridge and take a little walk on the beach, we activated our cameras again and took the already presented model-like photos :).
After a long and exhausting day, we treated ourselves to an (in the USA, drinking alcohol in public places is prohibited) illegal BudLight in the nearby park in the evening. After this culinary highlight, the day was over for us and our beds called us to rest.
