Ottawa at night

Udgivet: 19.04.2018

Today, there wasn't much on the agenda during the day. I wanted to give Ottawa, specifically the Byward Market, another chance, so I headed downtown early again. The snow had stopped overnight and it was slightly warmer, as far as you can say that at three degrees. But what can I say, Ottawa and I just don't click, literally. Today, it was a bleak wasteland there as well. The city looks very old and run-down. The restaurants and shops look unattractive from the outside and not inviting at all. So after a short detour to the supermarket to get some ingredients for my lunch, I went straight back home. However, I had planned to go out again in the evening and photograph the Parliament Hill in the dark, which I find to be the most beautiful part of the city. I bought a completely new camera equipment before my trip and wanted to try out how the photos look at night. I spent the afternoon preparing delicious guacamole bagels and then watched some soccer and Netflix, with little success. In the evening, I went to the water as planned to take some photos from the French side. Tomorrow, it's finally time to move on. The next destination on my trip is Montreal. I'm really looking forward to it, as I have read in many other travel reports that people didn't like Ottawa either, but loved Montreal. According to the weather forecast, spring will slowly start here as well from Saturday with sunshine and eleven degrees. It can only get better after Ottawa :)
