We wistfully watch the sunrise from our beautiful balcony.
Unfortunately, today we are going back home!
Our flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg leaves at 3 PM, where we have a transfer of just under 2 hours before taking a night flight back home at 7:25 PM.
Today, we want to spend the morning at Camps Bay. We stayed here for a week in an apartment near the beach in 2005 and found it absolutely amazing!
Even though we were here in the middle of the South African summer and even went swimming in the 18 degrees 'warm' Atlantic Ocean back then.
After checking out, we drive through Clifton to Camps Bay and are greeted immediately with a fantastic rainbow.
It is still raining over Camps Bay, the rain clouds are hanging over the '12 Apostles', while the sun is shining on the other side! Crazy!
It is very windy, the waves are crashing against the rocks further out.
We walk along the beach until we reach the tidal pool where there are actually 2 people swimming.... brrr... I get cold just watching them in my thick fleece jacket and windbreaker!Originally, we wanted to have lunch here in Camps Bay, but we don't have enough time.
We go to the airport and use the time there, before we fly, to have a pizza at the Italian restaurant at the airport.
We get a table right by the window with a view of the runway, where we watch the planes before heading to the gate.
We take off on time at 3:05 PM towards Johannesburg.
In Johannesburg, we have no problem catching our connecting flight and we arrive back home in Germany after a night flight at around 6 AM the next morning - back in good old Germany!
It was an eventful and varied 'summer vacation' of a different kind.
We are absolutely thrilled and can't wait to start a new 'Africa adventure' soon!!!
Bye Bye Africa.....
