Today we are heading towards Istria.
After breakfast, we check out and manage to leave the parking space easily, as there is no longer a car opposite. We drive from Krčk to Rijeka.
We don't like Rijeka very much. Everything is a bit run-down and dirty.
Then we drive along the coastal road to Opatja.
Opatija is a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic. The city was a popular resort in the 19th century and has many villas from the Habsburg era. Really many beautifully renovated villas and hotels along the road.
Unfortunately, we can't find a parking space, so we continue south. It feels a bit like the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Many small towns nestled on the hillside with a view of the Adriatic Sea.
We drive along the coast until Plomin and turn off before a fjord into the hinterland. Here, too, we find ourselves in a landscape very similar to Tuscany.
We stock up on various groceries and continue to Kanegra Beach. We have been here twice before. A small campsite, you can easily get a spot on the beach and it is very quiet here. After we have settled in, our neighbor (permanent camper) from the Czech Republic greets us and after an initially nice conversation,
I break off the conversation as it apparently involves a corona denier with some pretty strange fantasies....not something we need on vacation or ever!!!!
