The remaining journey to Berlin went relatively smoothly. In the morning, we jumped into the clear water of the Mediterranean again and collected seashells before getting back in the car. So we drove on the quiet French toll roads throughout the day until we reached the German border, where we stayed overnight at my grandmother's house. We had soup and wine for dinner and a generous breakfast the next morning. On the next day, we drove the final stretch to Berlin. We arrived in the evening and I said goodbye to my companions and took the train to my mother's.
For the next few days, I spent time meeting my friends, going out to party, and attending climate strikes. My Dutch friend Stefan also visited and we went to bars together and strolled through Kreuzberg. It felt good to be able to feel a little bit of Berlin's everyday life again, and when it was time to continue, I had fresh energy.
