Plowdiw offered us warmer and at least dry weather again after the past few days. After a longer drive, we spent the noon and afternoon visiting the main attractions of the city: ancient theater (where a performance was being rehearsed), ancient ruins with a panoramic view of the city, Orthodox church in honor of Constantine the Great and his mother, as well as the mosque and the amphitheater, which is located below the current city level but is still partly accessible.
For the evening, we decided to leave the city again and find a secluded parking space outside. Unfortunately, we had to abort our first attempt at this, as the dirt road leading into a wooded section became not only too bumpy for the car, but also so puddle-rich that frogs were already frolicking in it, and Anne's animal-loving heart prevented us from continuing. We were able to finally park for the night at a randomly found state-of-the-art sports facility somewhere in the middle of nowhere between Cowshed A and Town B.
