Now in the last blog post about the vacation trip to Rome, I first have to tell you about the train journey on the return journey. On this journey we had 19 minutes to change trains in Bologna from the underground station via the parking garage to the upper platforms. This time now melts away to 3 minutes due to the delay of our first train, which makes changing trains almost impossible. Luckily for us, we only arrived 12 minutes late instead of the 16 minutes delay shown, which gave us another chance in the fight for the connecting train. And so we stormed and rushed up the train station in Bologna floor by floor and sank exhausted into the seats of the EuroCity to Munich. This train then set off exactly on the second at the departure time and we were glad that we had caught this train because otherwise an odyssey from Italy over the Alps would have awaited us. But we comfortably circled the high mountains and were back home late in the evening.
The conclusion to our trip to Rome is simple: I love Italy! The atmosphere in Rome is very pleasant thanks to the sand-colored houses in the city center, the food is very tasty, the people are very nice and Roman history is impressive. Even if you have to imagine the brick walls of the ruins with marble cladding and high columns to recognize the magnificent architecture of ancient Rome. Some beautiful information boards help your imagination. The pine trees provide a beautiful backdrop. Not to forget our lovely host Francesca, who has created a little overnight gem with her guest house "Rome's Heart Guest House". She went to great lengths to make our stay in Rome as pleasant as possible. The guest house is also located in the pleasant Prati district not far from the Ottaviano metro station. And all for a really fair price. If we ever come back, we will definitely stay there again: www.romesheart.com
