Welcome to Fiji 🌸🏝
When we arrived at the airport at six in the morning, we were greeted with singing and guitar playing. We thought that couldn't be a better start to a trip. We booked and planned our trip from Australia. We spent the first night in Nadi. Unfortunately, the weather was not very good - it would rain heavily from time to time. Nadi is fine for one night, but we were quite disappointed because it is quite dirty and it was not what we expected from Fiji.
We had the Bula Combo Pass - 1 Coconut - so all the meals, accommodations, and ferry rides were included. On the second day, we went to our first island - Nacula - it is the northernmost island of the Yasawa Island group and it takes about 4.5 hours to get there from Denarau. You are picked up by a small boat from the respective resort when you arrive by ferry, and when you arrive on the small island, there are men and women who sing for you 😍. It is very important to thank or greet them with a hearty BULA. When we arrived, we knew that we were in Fiji because that's exactly what we had imagined. Various activities are always offered on the islands. Among other things, snorkeling, village tours, making chains and bracelets, cooking in the Fiji style, and then special things that can only be done from the respective accommodations. In the first accommodation, it was the visit to a cave - it was quite interesting because we swam in the caves and in the second one, we even had to dive. In addition, there was usually a program for the guests every evening, most of whom were backpackers.
Our second island was Naviti and our accommodation - White Sandy Beach. This one also had its special charm.
Our third island was Waya Lailai - we stayed at the Naqalia Lodge - this island was very familiar and on our first evening, there was a Fijian Night. We were introduced to the traditions of the locals and took part in their rituals. This includes singing together, praying, and eating on the floor with our hands.
On this island, we climbed the highest mountain with a guide to watch the sunset. It was quite exhausting, but really great!! We were happy that we did it.
Our fourth island is part of the Mamanuca Islands. It's called South Sea Island and is the smallest of this group. You can walk around the island in 5 minutes, you don't see that every day.
You can also take day trips to this island from the mainland. So the island is full of tourists from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and after that, only those who spend the night there remain. Great experience 😊
We especially liked the islands. We met incredibly nice and accommodating people who made our stay even better. They entertained us well and provided us with their good food!
If you have the opportunity, you should visit Fiji because you have to experience the way of the people yourself to believe it. The same goes for the landscape. We are completely satisfied and ready for the next adventure 🎉😊
