Aus; noch weiter südlich

It was 350km gravel road from Sesriem to Aus, so even further south.

We drove past our accident site. Back then (2001), a tire burst at high speed, causing us to spin and roll over three times. Luckily, nothing worse happened to us.

The route is incredibly beautiful, and we are enjoying the drive. Just before our destination, we encounter a strong thunderstorm with large drops of rain that feel like the windows are about to burst. We are happy for the plants and animals to have so much water. It is fun to drive through the huge puddles and small streams that form, splashing everywhere. The children are laughing with joy. A true pleasure at the end of a long journey.

In Aus, we sleep in a stone house directly on the mountain, with a great view of the sunset. Beautiful. And so peaceful. The children are still playing barefoot in the sand.

But as adults, we can't really sleep because it feels quite lonely (8km away from the main house), the wind is so strong that it feels like the window panes are about to burst, and on the way to the toilet, Konstantin encounters a huge cockroach that he luckily manages to kill with the last sprays of cockroach spray and my shoe.

The children are sleeping peacefully (in our bed).
