Today was the last day of our Kenya excursion. We were allowed to sleep in, could have had oysters and champagne for breakfast one last time, and had to pack our things and hand our luggage over to the porters in good time.
Our bus left promptly at 12:00 and we were able to admire the waterfront one last time. We got out in front of the cruise terminal. Our luggage was scanned quickly. We were then given our passports, which we had kept on the ship, and had to present them at a counter to get our new sea passports. Unfortunately, this took a little longer because the computers had just crashed.
Finally we were allowed to board the ship and were warmly welcomed by some crew members and passengers.
I stowed my luggage and then went to lunch. A large Veteran's Day cake was waiting for me in the Windjammer restaurant.
I spent the afternoon listening to the String Reverie Trio. The three musicians were happy to see me back and the Kenyan biscuits I had brought with me.
Back in my cabin, I received a call from Guest Services: I had to go back to the immigration office on land. There, my passport was given an exit stamp. Order is a must. But couldn't that have been done the first time?
At 9 p.m. I went to the theater to see comedian Graig Murphy perform. Quite entertaining.
