Adventure Khao Sok

When the alarm clock rang at 05:00, I was far from feeling well. I felt really sick and wondered how I would survive the ferry ride. We were driven from the hotel to the pier and when we arrived there, I immediately made acquaintance with the local toilet. Afterwards, I started feeling better every minute, so the ride wasn't as bad as I initially thought. When we arrived in Suratthani, we boarded a bus and drove for half an hour, and suddenly it said - Khao Sok. We thought that couldn't be right, because the journey should actually take about two hours. But apparently we had to change buses and the next bus was supposed to come in 15 minutes. Thai punctuality is not to be taken too seriously, so we waited for a good hour and then we actually continued towards the national park. We were picked up directly at the bus stop by a car that took us to our accommodation - right on the edge of the jungle. We had a bungalow cottage, after which there was really nothing except jungle. Our accommodation was called Palmview Resort and we were really impressed by the friendliness and the family atmosphere there. Our favorite Thai family! In the evening, we just sat comfortably in the chill-out area and when we arrived in our bungalow, we went on a spider hunt first. It's unfortunately part of the jungle experience to have uninvited guests in your room. The next day started again with the alarm clock and we went on a sea and jungle tour. With the minivan and some other people to the pier and then over an hour with the longtail boat across the huge lake. In the middle of the national park there are a few huts in the water where you can also sleep if you do a two-day tour there. That's where our first stop was and we had lunch together. We couldn't imagine what awaited us. We walked through the jungle, through water, mud, and climbed over branches and undergrowth. My hiking shoes were definitely properly inaugurated here, because there couldn't be more use for them. Then we went into a stalactite cave where the water sometimes went up to my chin and I could hardly stand. The most important thing was that I still had my pants on, which were of course completely wet afterwards. So I took them off and walked through the jungle only dressed in a bikini and hiking shoes, what an experience! Afterwards, we could relax for another half hour, clean up, and then we started our way back. Andrea and I joined our new Thai family and had another meal before we headed towards the bungalow to sleep.
