Shortly after 9am, we start our journey through Northern Ireland to spend the last few days north of Dublin in a beach town. Unfortunately, our efforts to get tickets for Newgrange have failed.
We would have liked to experience the sensation of an early Christian passage tomb, but there are no more tickets available until Monday. So today, we will continue southeast through Northern Ireland without any further plans, stopping in Armagh. Shopping is always a good idea, even in the UK 😉.
In the late afternoon, we once again crossed the internal Irish border unnoticed and are back in the Eurozone. The hotel is a strange block and the signs of what you are not allowed to do are quite intrusive, and the password 'sayplease' for the (poorly functioning) WLAN says it all. The view from my window is beautiful.
We walk along the beach for two hours on crunching seashells and enjoy the sun and the fact that we can finally walk in a T-shirt. In the evening, we eat at the pub in our hotel and already deal with the airport chaos that awaits us on Sunday.
