After two days in Češky Krumlov, my journey along the Vltavou towards the south continues on Friday, June 16th. I want to walk multiple days in a row, but not long distances at once. Rango should slowly get used to walking again.
I plan to walk about 10km, and there are several possible camping sites along the route. If needed, we can also stop at any nice spot, as I have enough provisions stored. For the first 2km, we will walk along a paved bike path along the Moldau. Then, I take a wrong turn and we find ourselves on the left bank of the Moldau, with about 5km of road without a sidewalk. We pass Němče, Větřni, Dobrné, and frustrated, we take a break around 2:30 PM at Kemp na Pískárně. After a short rest, we continue.
According to the GPS, after another 1.5km of road, near Všeměry, we have the opportunity to get back on the lost hiking trail. It works, and it becomes clear why we missed the first opportunity: the trail is hardly distinguishable from the rest of the terrain. The next kilometer and a half along the wooded slope on the right bank of the Moldau feels like cross-country. Rango has more talent for finding the 'path' than I do and gets to lead the way. Just before Zatoň, we reach a recognizable forest path again. This leads us to Jistebník around 5:00 PM, covering a total of about 12km, where the Kemp Branník is available for overnight stays.
Just like the campground before Krumau, this one is also very big and well-filled. In addition to caravans and a few bungalows, it has space for hundreds of tents and extends along both banks of the Vltavou. It seems to be mainly frequented by people who enjoy canoeing, apparently a popular activity here.
