Mattis woke up and was already feeling much better. So we all went for a walk with Jeani's dog, Stevie.
It may not sound exciting, but it was for us. Because the dog is a husky. After he killed 35 of the neighbor's chickens three years ago, we had to disable the security measures that have been keeping the dog in check since then, one by one.
First, the first leash is tied around the waist of the dog walker. In the second step, the second leash is tied around the hand, and only then is the electric shock collar removed. There is a wire embedded in the ground around the property. If the dog goes beyond this boundary line with the electric shock collar, he immediately feels it. That's why at the beginning, you have to pull him slightly over the boundary of the property, as he remembers the electric shocks he had received a few times. But once we crossed the boundary, we immediately understood why two leashes were necessary. Stevie, the husky lady, pulled like crazy. Forget about a leisurely walk with her.
Today is Jeani's husband, Victor's birthday, and guests were expected. The house was cleaned up and Flora vacuumed and mopped the lower living area.
When Victor's mother arrived, I couldn't help but smile when I saw her many bags. She reminded me of my mother. Because when my mother comes, she always brings a variety of cooked food, sweets for the kids, and supposedly interesting newspaper clippings for me.
After all the guests had arrived, we had one of the most delicious pizzas we've ever had. To Christian's delight, there was so much pizza left that he could eat plenty of it for the next few days.
