Data, material, tips

بڵاوکراوەتەوە: 24.05.2024

This morning the plan was to relax and have a big breakfast.
At 11:45am we took the bus back to Santiago, where the first thing we did was wash our clothes. Everything has to be in order 🤣
I also ordered a travel bag for the backpack so that I could check it in at the airport with the poles without any problems.

Tomorrow I'm heading south to rest and recover for a few days before returning to Germany.

By the way, my feet are completely ruined. They hurt a lot and my muscles are complaining quite badly too.

Now for the numbers:
Days: 40
Places/Villages/Cities: 309
Official kilometers (shortest route): 896km
Total kilometers walked (including detours, additional routes, sightseeing): 1,156.38km
Steps: 1,503,427
Experience: endless

The most beautiful sections:
Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Estella
Astorga to Molinaseca
Villafranca to Sarria (via Pradela and then via Samos)
Santiago de Compostela to Finisterre (via Muxia)

Pants and shirt to sleep in and to wear while doing laundry.
suncream
sunglasses
Pocket knife or knife
Painkillers

toothpaste
A bath towel and a small one for the morning (both made of microfiber)
Nail scissors/clippers/file
Hand washing detergent (if you want to wash yourself, but there are enough washing facilities)
Clothes line
Half roll of toilet paper
Medicines for colds, diarrhea, etc.
Personal medications & creams
Deer tallow cream/Vaseline for the feet
Lightweight plastic bags for dirty laundry
Writing utensils for a diary or similar
Always have it with you, but get it locally:
Protein bars
Nut mix
granola bar
Water (you don't need more than 1-2 liters (depending on the weather and stage). You can always refill it for free at fountains or in bars)
You don't need anything more.

Overall, the backpack should only weigh 10% of its own weight and a maximum of 9kg (without water).

And if you have any further questions, please let me know.
