Camino instead of Casino! Even the casino in Navia where I stood last night could not deter me from my path. My luck lies 'on the road'. And my stake is minuscule.
I got up a little earlier than usual today, didn't sleep well. But this time it wasn't because of the short beds, but because of a snorer of the highest class. He definitely destroyed more than one forest tonight. While the beds next to mine were still having a good time around 11:30 p.m., the enthusiasm dwindled during the night, not the snoring, but the entertainment. Going out early has the advantage that you don't meet a soul in the first few hours, especially today being Sunday. Only the animals are my constant companions, including the snails.
And then it happens. I come across a dog that barks at me, but no chain, no leash, no fence. He is on the other side of the small quarries and I am on one side. There's no detour in sight. We look deep into each other's eyes and I cross over, everything went well. I don't know who had more respect for the other.
In the late morning, I reach the spot recommended by the hostel owner to turn off the Camino, and shortly afterwards I finally walk on forest ground again, my feet thank me and it's shady - simply beautiful, thanks again for the tip. I reach the coastal path E9, which leads to Tapia, a wonderful path 50/60 meters above the sea. Now I'm going to take a break. A bench is quickly found, next to a cemetery wall, the sun is shining from the front (but it's not so hot yet) - aaaaaaaahhhhh.
After a few minutes, I'm again at a special point on this coast - Castro y mirador de cabo blanko.
A place to kneel. I think of the pilgrims who follow the Camino straight ahead, a 'betrayal' of the pilgrim.
Yesterday, when planning the tour, I thought, 5 km more, today I wished it were 10 km more of the sea.
Sundays in Spain are not only for cycling races and marathons, there are also horse races, and on the coastal path, it's a great scenario.
It's almost a shame that I reach my destination on time. A really beautiful little town that reminds me of Holland a bit - really cozy. And the day ends cozy in a good local restaurant, with the lively atmosphere of the Spanish guests, which is infectious.
