From Whitsundays to Townsville

I set off from the Whitsundays (Mackay) to Townsville in the late morning... The distance is about 300 km - but the landscape is quite monotonous...

Recommendation to those who want to drive along the Sunshine Coast (East Coast) by car... I would think twice about it next time... The south around Melbourne, which I unfortunately had to skip due to lack of time, seems much more promising to me...

At some point in the afternoon, I check into my hotel - at least the pool is nice, so I decide to spend the remaining afternoon in the shade on a sun lounger...

In the evening, I decide to go into Townsville to have something to eat...

It's a bit of a disappointment... not a single nice restaurant, only fast food places and self-service booths...

The pizza I eventually find comes from a wood-fired oven, but it has enough cheese for 3 pizzas... after half of it, I give up and drive back to the hotel, where I finally get a good Chardonnay...
