With the concern of being ripped off by a tuk-tuk driver, we wandered out of Khao San Road. Lost and clueless, we walked through the alleys of Bangkok. I don't know how stupid we must have looked, but a Thai woman approached us and asked what we were planning and if she could help... I thought to myself, 'Oh no, another one trying to sell us something.' But how mistaken I was. As lovely as the Thais are, she explained to us which temples we should visit, how to get to the tourist information center, and which tuk-tuk to take that wouldn't rip us off. Specifically, the ones with a Thai flag on the roof, as they are supported by the government and don't scam tourists. So we hailed a tuk-tuk, negotiated a price, 40 baht for the whole afternoon... 40, that's 1€ :D. And off we went, from one temple to another, Wat Intharawihan, Wat Saket, whatever :D All the while, we were surrounded by incense, still feeling quite high :D Finally, we visited the tourist information center and booked a trip to the north. Off to Chiang Mai, starting tomorrow evening. We'll keep you updated. Warm regards from the hostel garden. We're sitting here listening to reggae music and drinking beer. Can life be any better?
