Düsseldorf - Dubai

Our flight left in the evening at 9:30 PM...

saying goodbye was even harder than I thought, both to mom and Simon, as well as especially to Bendix...

The flight was relatively bumpy and unfortunately I couldn't sleep properly, even though there was an empty seat next to me and I could lay down I didn't sleep much...

Arriving in Dubai, a chauffeur picked us up from the airport, what we saw whizzing past the windows was already impressive.

We had breakfast at the hotel first, then we lay down on the rooftop terrace by the pool and slept for another 1-2 hours, but at some point it became too hot.

We found a small supermarket just around the corner and bought a large bottle of water, the cashier was absolutely unfriendly.

Now we are sitting in the hotel lobby, drinking our water and waiting to finally be able to bring our stuff to the room and explore the city center.

We will probably miss the free shuttle (check-in is probably only possible around 1:30 PM (currently it's only 8:20 AM)

Let's see what we can do in the meantime without melting in this heat...

Update: it's now 1:15 PM, we haven't checked in yet, but we've already been to the Mall of Emirates - extremely impressive, the ski slope in the middle of the mall 😄👀
