The mattress was very hard and I got up at 6.30 am with a backache. By the time I finally set off, it was 8.00 am. The route was on tarmac, but along pleasant side roads through small villages, under overcast skies and at 15°C.Autumnal weather
After 3,5km I reached the Camino Central and I was quite relieved to see the well known signs again.
Camino Signpost Central RouteI walked about 0.5 km in the signposted direction towards the next village where I could stop for a bite to eat, as I was hungry and fancied a proper meal (ham and eggs). But there wasn't anything like that to have. In the end, I had a simple cold ham and cheese sandwich and a chocolate cake that was far too sweet, with a coffee.Rain clouds are coming
As I walked out of the café, it started to rain. At first it was light, but then it got heavier and heavier, and I was on my way, wearing my rain trousers, jacket and rucksack cover.
Church The rain didn’t stop untill I reached my new home at 2.30 pm. After I’d had a hot shower, I went into the common room and made myself a cup of tea. I sat there, chatting with other pilgrims from the States, Netherlands and Germany and had my dinner, which the landlady had cooked.
