Today's day was relatively calm as the weather increasingly turned 'worse'. The cloud cover thickened in the early afternoon, bringing a soothing coolness, but making further excursions for photography or just sightseeing unnecessary. Indoor events are not on offer here in the great outdoors.
This morning after breakfast, we drove the Senic Drive in Monument Valley and took advantage of the remaining sun. At 11 defined view points, we could admire the landscape. Activities outside of these limited options are not permitted by the Navajo natives. They are the owners and managers of this area.
After the approximately 2-hour tour (17 miles) through countless potholes and ruts, all tense muscles in the neck and upper back were loosened again.
After a short coffee break, we returned to Goosenecks State Park, marveled at the loop of the San Juan River. The weather then worsened and we organized ourselves and our belongings for the onward journey tomorrow Friday to the Grand Canyon.
