Welcome to Southwest Florida

Of course, the previously planned sleep completely went out the window, the excitement and anticipation of the new experiences were too great. The flight itself was totally calm and very pleasant. The food was absolutely satisfying and to our surprise, it even made us feel full :p

Especially impressive were the cloud formations just before landing in Fort Myers. Besides the fact that clouds are absolutely essential for regulating the global water balance, it was also a fantastic natural spectacle that was presented to us here.

But it was also beautiful when the clouds slowly disappeared above us and the coast of Florida finally appeared. The seemingly endless white sandy beaches could already be seen from above and increased our vacation feeling immensely.

At around 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, we set foot on American soil for the first time. Great surprise, it didn't really feel different at that time :D However, that will change later. Baggage claim and the remaining checks all went smoothly. Next, we went to pick up our red sports car. Again, there were no problems, and so after a few minutes we could already go to the parking lot. Phew, it's pretty hot here^^ Now it already feels quite different from just 12 hours earlier. When our luggage also fit without any problems, all fears and concerns were defeated.

After a 30-minute drive, we finally reached our accommodation in Cape Coral. The rest of the evening went by quickly. Unpacking, setting up, eating, and of course realizing that we have finally arrived were the main tasks.

Of course, the first dip in the pool and the first beer were also not to be missed ;)
