After we spent the day yesterday cycling and at the beach (the water is not as cold as Jürgen says🫣)
and because of the mosquitoes we have to sit in the Rudy in the evening, we left early this morning and drove on towards Narbonne (the Pyrenees in sight)
By the way, in the photo you can see the mosquito on my forehead that bit me so badly.🦟
A quick trip to the Super U. and stock up on the essentials. The fish counters here are fantastic 🐠🐟🍤
Oh yes, the first lemon cake from the gas stove🫶
Near Narbonne, in Gruissan, we find a nice spot on a peninsula in the harbor. It also seems to be mosquito-free here.
Luckily we found a spot right by the canal.
The historic town centre is just 2 km away.
Gruissan-Village is the historic town centre , whose houses are arranged in a circle around the old castle complex.
In the 14th century, the castle protected the port of Narbonne. Nothing remains of the port and only the ruins of the Tour Barberousse remain of the castle.
Of course we climb the ruins, as befits tourists, in flip-flops and Birkenstocks😭
The first French ice cream is also eaten today 2 scoops 5 euros (that was also as expensive last year)
Then we cycle along the canal to Gruissan Plage.
Because of the black clouds, however, we go back to Rudy.
There are even 2 hot showers on this pitch after we had a cold shower at Rudy😜
The evening turns out to be sunny and there actually seem to be fewer mosquitoes.
