Today we got a new horse: A broodmare has a tumor on one of her ovaries, so she needs to go to the clinic in Madrid to have it removed. After about 2.5 hours of training with her, we were finally able to touch her :) It might still take some work to make her transportable, we'll see.
One of the mares that we are training (the chestnut mare that Nick had as a lead horse in the photos in the post from June 2nd) might unexpectedly go to Austria this week, instead of in the fall as previously communicated. It's not confirmed yet, but the owner might want to send her earlier. That's why we worked her twice today. Nick rode his Sarina today, I rode the chestnut mare, and Nick took us on the lead rope. We even trotted briefly on the meadow. She's doing really well!
We haven't taken our cats for a walk in a while, so Nick thought we should do it again. We went for a walk with our 3 cats for about 2 hours. They love it, see for yourself in the photos. Along the way, we also collected chamomile, lavender, and elderflowers.
Just before the sunset, I was in the arena with Fly and practiced the exercises from the 'work on hand' lesson. She's slowly getting it...
Meanwhile, Nick took care of the household in the caravan, thanks a lot!
