The flat is emptying
The apartment is emptying out and our excitement is building. The year has finally arrived where we can finally get started. The cold and wet weather is adding to the ant

For about two weeks now, our furniture has been limited to the kitchen cabinets, a couch, a lowboard, a bed, three chairs, and the washing machine. A lot of it was picked up by a girl who is moving into her first apartment in Zorneding. She’ll also be getting the couch and the washing machine. We’ve promised the lowboard to a neighbor. Our belongings are now scattered across various folding boxes in the hallway and bedroom. At least we don’t have to search long for things now.
The boxes for the Philippines are finally on their way to Sweden to be loaded into the shipping container there. The planned three boxes have now become five and are right up against the 20 kg limit. We even had to cut back on a few more things.
On February 3, I was finally able to delete the small ads app when the last saleable item, an Apple keyboard, was handed over to its new owner. That was truly a relief! I never would have thought that renewing listings, taking photos, and especially dealing with potential buyers would be so time-consuming.
The remaining items from our household will be distributed to friends and neighbors or end up at the recycling center.
The bureaucratic preparations are also moving forward: We’ve picked up our international driver’s licenses, and the apostille is ready (a certification that our marriage certificate is valid). We’ve also taken out liability insurance for abroad, and our application for health insurance is currently being reviewed.
Otherwise, we’ve visited all the necessary doctors again and had health checkups done (also for the new health insurance).
