In Georgia too, it was no longer possible to deny that autumn had long since arrived. We were already wearing all the long clothes from our sparse luggage, but it just didn't feel comfortable outside of the warm sulfur baths. But since we made the decision to take our break, we had agreed that we wanted to spend the winter without freezing, so the sun lured us further east, initially to Thailand.
Here we are now taking a few days on Loh Chang in the southeast to think about the next few months. Since we had arranged to meet friends in Georgia during the autumn holidays, it was always somewhat clear where we were going next for the now completed first act of our trip, albeit with the great freedom to stay a little longer here or there or stay a little longer to include a detour there.
But now for the first time we are truly directionless. And that only seems to increase the enjoyment of dinner at the food market or in the hammock under the palm trees. After the first big section, which is now behind us, we look back a little at a good three months in Eastern Europe and the Near East full of great and impressive encounters, fantastic landscapes and our arrival on our way through the world.
We quickly realized that it was a good decision to leave home slowly and not immediately get on the next plane to the dream beach. Because this gave our soul the time to always travel with us instead of lingering in familiar realms while we had long since moved on.
Now we are ready to really get involved with Asia, the extremely friendly people and the speed that prevails here. We don't yet know exactly where we're going and that's a good thing.
