After weeks of hard work on the kiwi orchard, we're now heading to the South Island. Our exhausted bodies need some rest. 😂
First stop was Wellington before taking the ferry to Picton. Our search for a campground there turned out to be quite difficult. The first free one had no network and strong wind, the second one was fully booked, and the third one we paid $14 only to realize that we weren't allowed to stay there on Saturday night. So we went back to the first one. That was probably the worst night since we've been on the road, because it felt like our van was going to fly away! From Picton, we continued to Kaikoura to enjoy some delicious fish and chips ;) Then we went to Christchurch for some sightseeing. The next day, we drove to Dunedin, where we were asked for an ID when buying coffee. Of course, we didn't have any with us, so we didn't get any coffee. Yeah, that's not exaggerated at all!! 😂😂 Next stop was Nugget Point, which was quite beautiful, but even cooler was the road that came after. We herded sheep on an 8 km long dirt road 😂 But why do they have to stand so dumbly in the middle of the road?😉 But the absolute highlight so far was Milford Sound, a stunning landscape that is only tainted by sandflies. Those buggers bite you to death, but we still had fun, as you can see from our selfie series😂
Half stabbed, we're now continuing to Queenstown 😍
See you 😉👋
