Tag 57 - Stopover at Lake Dümmer with beaver sighting :)

Wɔatintim: 28.05.2019

Hello everyone!

Today we drove a bit further towards Ibbenbüren.

On the way, we took a little shopping break at the hardware store :).

As you may have noticed, we left our motorcycle in Switzerland. Since we spend a lot of time by the water, we needed a new mode of transportation: a rubber boat!

We didn't want something too cheap, so the prices quickly went up... They started at 400 euros and ended at 800 euros... We stood undecided in the store for quite a while. We spotted a little boat on the top shelf in a torn box and asked a salesperson if it was available. He confirmed that it was, but warned us that it had a crack and needed to be repaired. We debated for a while: can we do it? Yes? No? If it doesn't work out, it's a lot of money to waste, because even with the defect it wouldn't be cheap... After a while, we decided to give it a try. After a few price negotiations, we managed to get it for 225 euros (including a repair kit :D). If the repair works, it's a real bargain. If not... Well, we're not thinking about that right now... It'll work out, haha.

We also bought one or two things for the camper, including a tank cleaner and some small household items.

We are now about an hour away from our destination tomorrow and the day is almost over - it's amazing how quickly time flies :D

In the evening, we went on a little exploration. We are in the middle of a nature reserve and walked along a cute path. Suddenly, Kevin spotted a beaver carrying something into its burrow. We watched it for about half an hour, and then we wanted to get closer. That wasn't possible from our current location, so we walked back and approached from behind. We made a quick stop at the camper and I got Marco's super camera. Here, another huge thank you! The camera is really awesome!

We walked through knee-high, wet grass, mixed with nettles and full of mosquitoes. Our feet were already soaked with water after a few meters and we still had a long way to go. But it was worth it! We got another glimpse of the beaver and managed to take a photo. After that, it didn't come back. So, we had to retreat. Back through the wet grass, we reached the camper and now we're making ourselves comfortable :).

We have something super cool booked for Thursday!!! We're going scuba diving in a mine!!!! Not cheap at all... Not at all... But it will definitely be an incredible experience!

On Friday, we will continue to the Nürburgring. From Friday to Sunday, the "Porsche Cup" will take place there. Of course, we don't want to miss that :)).

Next destination afterwards: England!

As you can see, a lot will be happening with us in the next few days and the excitement for the upcoming events is gigantic!

So stay tuned, there will definitely be something for everyone in the next entries ;)

Oh, and today we're still trying to fix the boat, you will also find out in the next few days if it worked ;).

See you then!
