31.1. - 02.02. Oudtshoorn

We are back after a longer absence. We spent 2 days without WiFi in the desert in Oudtshoorn.

We visited Dario and Carmen again after 2 years and it was simply amazing.

Upon arrival and a little refreshment, we went straight to feed the ostriches. Karina, Carsten, and Justin really enjoyed it, and this time the ostriches were very well-behaved. Afterwards, we enjoyed a relaxed dinner with ostrich fillet.

The next day, we took a small bush safari in Buffelsdrift and visited the Cangoo Caves. As luck would have it, we had the pleasure of hearing Lee-Anne sing in the caves again. (We tried our best to ignore the annoying Asian group, including Lee-Anne, you surely know what we mean.)

Afterwards, we had to hurry - after all, we still had to physically and mentally prepare for a football match with the little ones from Dario's football team. But what can I say, no matter how good the preparation is, playing in the desert under the scorching sun at 38 degrees is not something we're used to 😉 But it was a super great experience that we don't want to miss. Afterwards, we brought all the clothes to Lara, who will then sort them out so that they can be distributed fairly to all the families in Lategansvlei.

Once again, we are impressed by all the work and love that Dario and Carmen put into this place, and then the next day we moved on to Wilderness.
