With heavy hearts, we have to say goodbye to Koh Yao Noi today. We would have liked to stay here a little longer or visit the neighboring island of Koh Yao Yai. But we have to leave. However, before we go, we will go to the beach one last time and visit Koh Nok, the mini island that can be reached on foot at low tide. It is still wonderful here.
After a few sentimental minutes, we have to go back and pack our last things. Then we go to Poom's restaurant and wait there for the taxi. Finally, it arrives shortly before 11 am and we say goodbye to Poom. Now we are heading to the speedboat at Manoh Pier. Poom waves at us until we disappear around the next corner. On the way, we see our South African acquaintances, whom we have met almost every day on Yao Noi. Gerry happens to be riding his scooter behind our taxi, so we can say a brief goodbye from the open loading area.
This time the speedboat is very crowded, every centimeter is used for passengers or cargo. However, we have good seats and the ride to Phuket is quite fast. When we arrive at Bang Rong Pier, we take a taxi to the hostel near the airport, which is about 20 minutes away.
Our hostel for one night makes a good impression, it is clean and bright. We even get a free room upgrade (no idea why), so we are comfortably accommodated. We find something to eat and go to the beach, which is right next to the airport. The beach is very wide and long with golden sand.
We don't stay up too late tonight because we have to get up at 5:15 am tomorrow. The shuttle service to the airport arrives at 6 am and the flight departs at 9:30 am.
