The compulsory break in Germany

Wɔatintim: 14.02.2022

On 06.02.22 we arrive in Germany at our vacation home in Opfingen. Luckily, we can park Polly directly in front of the vacation home. Opfingen is a small village, about 15km away from Freiburg am Breisgau. On Monday, we head to the district town of Emmendingen for an open vaccination campaign. We actually get the vaccination and hardly anyone is interested that we are no longer insured in Germany. Booking an extra 5 nights in the vacation home will later turn out to be a good idea. Although it is a bit strange to suddenly live in an apartment after 4 months. Unfortunately, Maria doesn't tolerate the vaccination as well as Nicole, so we slow down for 2 days. The mood also drops a bit after we find out after the vaccination that France does not recognize the booster vaccination directly, but only after 7 days. This means that we can only reenter France from 14.02.22. Fortunately, Nicole's sister lives only 100km away from Opfingen and we spontaneously spend the remaining waiting time there. Also a good opportunity to do a spring cleaning in Polly and replenish all supplies. After a nice and relaxed weekend in Karlsruhe, we start heading back to France on Monday. Many thanks to Michelle and Nik for the overnight accommodation and the wonderful time together!!!
