Romania Day 11 - The end of the journey

Wɔatintim: 29.07.2019

After a rather short night, it was time to pack our suitcases one last time.

A bit sleepy, we set off to the Parliament building in initially gloomy and rainy weather, where a one-hour guided tour awaited us.

This building is the second largest administrative building in the world, after the Pentagon in Virginia, USA.

Although we only visited a fraction of the 21 floors, just this sight alone was overwhelming. We were especially impressed by the extent of the chandeliers and large halls, which almost seemed kitschy.

After finishing the tour and the rain clouds fortunately disappeared, we headed back to the city center, where we could shop, eat, or simply relax as we pleased.

At 4 pm it was time to leave for the airport. Check-in and boarding went smoothly, so we could take off almost on time at 7:25 pm.

Two hours later, we safely landed in Munich, where our bus drivers and our luggage were already waiting for us.

With anticipation, but also a bit of sadness about the end of the journey, we finally embarked on the approximately two-hour journey back to Heidenheim, where we were welcomed by our parents and friends.

As always, we are overwhelmed by the organizational skills of our manager and choir mom Sylvia Lohse and would like to express a huge and heartfelt thank you to her.

Of course, our thanks also go to choir director Thomas Kammel, without whom and his effort and hard work, such a trip would never have been possible musically.

Especially the warmth and openness of the Romanians will always remain in our memory and in our hearts.
